A Guide To The Different Wii Accessories

A Guide To The Different Wii Accessories

The Wii Nintendo video game console is one which has received incredible attention, and not only is it now one of the most popular video game consoles in the world, but as well the Wii accessories that are available to go along with it are lots of fun, and make for variety so that the game never gets old.

What Are The Different Wii Accessories?

There are actually quite a few different Wii accessories out there today, including the crystal Wii cooling stand, which is an accessory that you literally sit your Wii console in, and which works by constantly keeping the console cool, so that it does not overheat, regardless of how long you are playing the game for. This is really fantastic because a lot of people like to keep their video game consoles on all the time, in order to save themselves the hassle of having to constantly turn it off and on every time they want to play.

Another of the Wii accessories is the lightgun peripheral, which is an accessory that can be used as a gun for various shooting games, but which also offers a proper lightgun peripheral, which none of the other accessories like this – for the Wii or any another video game console – have.

Yet another of the Wii accessories that you have to choose from is the train controller, and this is another incredibly innovative accessory. Since physically moving the Wii-mote in a circular motion in order to try and get Taito’s upcoming train simulator would simply be incredibly tiring, this is what has really brought the Wii train controller into fruition. After all, this unique looking controller is meant to work for the previously mentioned train simulator game, and in the future it is going to be able to used for an array of other games as well.

Choosing Accessories

Basically, it will depend on what types of games you have in terms of what accessories you should purchase, and just make sure that you are aware of what you are buying and are sure that you are going to be able to use it, rather than just buying something over all the hype that has been made over it.

The Wii is definitely a new and exciting video game, and with all the creative and innovate accessories that are available to go with it, it is definitely a video game console that you want to invest in.

Introducing the Nintendo Wii

Introducing the Nintendo Wii

Wii is the fifth and latest home video game console offer from Nintendo. The video game giant Nintendo has made the Wii to target a broader demographic than other competitors video games but can also compete them. The Wii is already the seventh generation of video games consoles from Nintendo.

The Nintendo Wii is spelled with two lower case I’s to represent two people or players standing side by side as well as representing the controllers of the console. The console and controller were supposed to be released in 2005 but further troubleshooting was needed for the controller so only the console was brought out for preview.

What’s In a Name

Wii is pronounced “we”. It brings to mind that the console is for everybody. Wii is also easy to remember, no matter what language it does not need any abbreviation. Several jokes came out when the name was initially introduced to the public but Nintendo stood by the name.

When the Wii was first released, people scramble to get a hold on one. Pre-orders were not meet when the units cam out due to the large demand for the consoles. Nintendo invested over $200 million just for advertising since 2006 up to now. This is their first wide spread ad campaign that targets all ways of life and all ages.

Statistics and Features

The Wii is Nintendo’s smallest video game home unit to date. It has a stand that measures around 55.4 mm wide and 44 mm in height and 225.6 mm deep. The gaming system weighs approximately 1.2 kilograms, making the Wii the lightest of the three popular seventh generation consoles. The console can stand vertically or horizontally, depending on the space available and the user preference.

The Wii is also capable of loading the Nintendo Game Cube Game Discs along with the Wii Optical Discs. At the rear of the unit, there are 2 USB ports and in the front area, underneath the cover, is an SD card slot. This slot can be used for photo uploading and saving games’ data externally. Players may also use the SD Card to customize the in-game music.

One feature of the Wii is the wireless controller, named Wii Remote. It can be utilized as a pointing device and has the capacity to detect rotation and motion in 3 dimensions. The WiiConnect24 gives the Wii capacity to receive updates over the Internet and also receive messages while on standby.
The Nintendo Wii is initially available in white but it has several color options like black, silver, lime green and red. The Wii Remote is also color coordinated with the console that it comes with while at the E3 of 2006, the remote was colored light blue. The Nintendo Wii launch package consists of the game console, the console stand, a round clear stabilizer for the main stand, the Wii Remote, a Nunchuck attachment, a Sensor Bar with a removable stand, a main power adapter, two batteries (AA), a composite AV cable including RCA connectors and a copy of Wii Sports.

Wii Controllers: A Choice For The Gaming System

Wii Controllers: A Choice For The Gaming System

The Wii gaming system is a much desired product. This exciting gaming console allows for the player to become completely immersed in the game. By using the Wii Controllers the gamer can make their characters do a variety of different actions and movements. The Wii controllers are really what makes this system unique.

Choices For The Consumer

The Wii gaming system comes with a basic controller. This can be used for all of the games and is simple to use. Since most of the action in a Wii game is copied from the players own movements, just holding the controller and making interactive gestures to the games can make the characters move. A basic gesture may be to be pitching a ball. The controller is placed in the hand and the player uses it by rolling the hand forward in the pitching motion. This is a basic controller, but functions very well for the gaming system.

The Nunchuk: Another Of The Wii Controllers

The Nunchuk is another of the Wii controllers that is offered. This controller is longer than the basic model that comes with the gaming system. It has a long handle and is somewhat ball shaped at the end to fit comfortably in the hand of the player. This controller needs to be purchased separately and can be found wherever the Wii system is sold. These Wii controllers are very popular and in some locations a little harder to locate. They can also be found on-line. Many of the Wii games can use this form of controller including, Bowling, Baseball and the Legend of Zelda series of games.

The Wii Gun

This is a new concept created by Nintendo and recently released. This is a very unique approach to the Wii controllers. It is shaped like a gun, and the basic Wii remote can be slid into the gun shell. With this Wii controller, the player uses the gun at the screen. A game that is used with this controller is Duck Hunting. The player uses this controller to feel that they are really on the hunt for ducks. This new controller has shown to work very well, but, once released into the mass market there may be some problems that Nintendo will need to address.

As the Wii gaming system continues to advance and additional games are created for this interactive gaming system, the Wii controllers will also be evolving.
