At the rear of the unit, there are 2 USB ports and in the front area, underneath the cover, is an SD card slot. This slot can be used for photo uploading and saving games’ data externally. Players may also use the SD Card to customize the in-game music.

One feature of the Wii is the wireless controller, named Wii Remote. It can be utilized as a pointing device and has the capacity to detect rotation and motion in 3 dimensions. The WiiConnect24 gives the Wii capacity to receive updates over the Internet and also receive messages while on standby.
